The Best Way to Clean Cat Condos

!±8± The Best Way to Clean Cat Condos

Cat condos need to be cleaned every so often, just as all of your other furniture. There is nothing worse than purchasing cat furniture so that your pets will have a space to call their own, and then fail to maintain it as you would the rest of your furniture. Cats are very good at grooming themselves, but not so good at keeping their furniture clean.

The first thing that you want to do is take the pieces apart as best you can, especially if you have a high tower cat condos configuration. Cleaning when the furniture is completely assembled makes it difficult to reach all of the nooks and crannies.

Next, you can use a tool that is specifically designed to remove pet hair and brush the exterior; however, sometimes these will not reach those tight spaces. An alternative is to put on a rubber glove and run it under water. With the glove slightly damp rub your hand over the spaces and dig into the crevices.

The next step for cleaning cat condos is to vacuum. Use the attachment and go over the surface areas to remove the dust and dirt that settles on the fibers. If there are any stains in the carpeted surface then you can treat them just as you would a stain on your floor. You should first treat the stained area by following the instructions on the label of the solution that you choose. Be sure to rinse the area completely with a mild soap and water mixture so no harmful chemicals are left behind.

Finally, remove the odors. If the odor is light then you may be able to simple spray with a fabric refresher product. If the odor on the cat condos seems to have penetrated, then opt for a granulated formula and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

When the cleaning is done, reassemble the cat furniture. Just as you did when you first put up your cat condos, be sure to test it for security. All attachments must be firm to avoid accidental tipping. This simple cleaning routine should be done as needed to extend the life and enjoyment of your cat furniture.
